Technical Author – Broadcast Technology

A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Technical Author to join one of the UK’s leading broadcast test and measurement companies.

You'll work closely with R&D, product management, and service teams to create, edit, and manage technical user guides, installation manuals, and support documentation — mainly for software/firmware products within the professional broadcast TV industry.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Write, edit, and update user-friendly technical documentation

🔹 Maintain documentation standards and control processes

🔹 Collaborate with engineering teams to verify content accuracy

🔹 Participate in product testing phases to ensure documentation clarity

🔹 Suggest improvements to documentation and publishing processes

What We’re Looking For:

✅ 5+ years of technical writing experience (MadCap Flare preferred)

✅ Excellent written communication and attention to detail

✅ Ability to translate complex technical language into clear, user-focused content

✅ Experience in broadcast technology is highly desirable (SDI, SMPTE 2110, IP Networking, HDR/WCG)

✅ Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects

Desirable Skills:

🎯 Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Visio

🎯 Knowledge of CAD/CAM viewers like eDrawings

🎯 A second language would be an advantage
