Our Modular Team is a small start-up style team focused on the design and build of projects requiring authority approvals to permanent level code for longer term temporary structures.

We are passionate about modular, temporary structures and their fit out, for sporting, hospitality and commercial projects, pop up architecture, design & build of long-term modular architecture, exhibitions stands and the design and procurement of furniture.

We require strong all-round multi-disciplinary design professionals with design & build experience and a confident level of technical design and delivery experience, to be hands on throughout the design process. Interior Architecture or Design background is preferred.

Position Description:

Job Title: Senior Technical Designer

Reporting Into: Design Manager – Modular Team

Direct Reports: None

Project Reports: None

Location: Dubai, KSA

Job Objective:

Responsible for production of design drawing packages to include Structure/Architecture/Interior Design/MEP/FLS/Data/FF&E required for Concept, Schematic & Technical Design Phases for our modular design & build projects.

Working alongside the project Design Lead ensuring design concepts are developed in line with the design intent and local authority codes and are drafted accurately and efficiently into full technical drawing packages, that can be utilized by all project stakeholders.

Ensuring that the design process from concept design, through developed and technical design phases, is carried out in a collaborative and professional way, following Arena’s defined Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for producing full design drawing packages including plans, elevations and detail drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit to include master plans, Structure, Architecture, Interiors, FF&E, MEP, Data, FLS, FF&E.
• Producing detailed CMJ drawing packages for interior fit out.
• Assisting with producing design BOQ and material schedules
• Preparation of Schedules.
• Checking the Technical Design package and CMJ detail drawings to ensure they are accurate to the intended design and are executed using Arena drawing standards.
• Flagging design clashes and proposing design solutions that are aligned with the design vision.
• Coordinating with and resolving design issues with Design Manager and Project Manager.
• Reviewing of design packages before submittal to ensure all information is correct.
• Assisting with briefing and coordinating with the Estimating team during the tendering and pricing process to ensure our designs are on brief and within budget.
• Assisting with briefing and coordinating with Interiors and Project Management teams on the delivery of a design.
• Assisting project management team with document control and drawing related queries.
• Ensuring that all design documentation is filed in the correct location on the Arena SharePoint in a timely manner in alignment with the department SOPs.
• Ensuring that all Design Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to on your allocated projects.

Education & Experience:

• A design related degree, such Architecture or Interior Design, is a minimum requirement.
• 8+ years experience in interior architecture design team for commercial, hospitality or event projects.
• Design & Build experience preferred.
