We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Advisor for our Service Company. This position provides expertise and in-depth technical knowledge and guidance to customers and other field service personnel, focusing on troubleshooting equipment issues, offering expert advice on product usage, and ensuring that proper maintenance practices are followed. This often requires travel to various customer locations to address complex technical problems and maintain customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical expert to support field operations. Technical advisors serve as subject matter experts who guide internal staff, while also interacting with external contacts and vendors.

This position must be near our Robinson Manufacturing facilities in Zelienople, PA, Lakeland, FL, or Salt Lake City, UT. You must be available to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and emergency responses, as needed for current and future projects.

What Will You Do

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with equipment in the field by analyzing symptoms, reviewing manuals, and utilizing specialized diagnostic tools and equipment. Must have a thorough understanding of bearing types, installation, and be able to diagnose basic fan problems.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product design, specifications, and limitations to provide effective advice to customers and technicians. Develop a thorough understanding of all Robinson products and services.
  • Answer technical queries from customers 24/7, including during off-hours, and guide field technicians through product operation and troubleshooting steps.
  • Visit customer locations to assess technical issues, provide hands-on troubleshooting, and train customers on the proper use of equipment.
  • Conduct training sessions for field service technicians on new product features, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Review technical documentation, update knowledge base articles, and create training materials related to product functionality.
  • Analyze warranty claims to identify potential issues and root causes, and coordinate with the service team on necessary repairs.
  • Track service trends, identify recurring issues, and provide detailed reports to management on service performance and customer feedback.
  • Work closely with and be familiar with cross-functional departments to find solutions for customers.

What You Will Bring

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar or related job
  • Must have a solid mechanical aptitude, and have the ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, customer requests, and have a strong understanding of industrial estimations and jobs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable & punctual
  • Basic Math skills to use mathematical techniques to calculate data or solve practical problems related to this position
  • Physical & mental ability to gather and interpret data related to specifications, customer and engineering requirements, manufacturing operations, etc.
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
