Position Overview:

The Technical Accounting Manager will lead key initiatives involving complex accounting matters, policy development, and support for strategic transactions. Reporting into senior leadership, this individual will act as a subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and collaborate cross-functionally on high-impact projects, process enhancements, and audit activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting research for complex, non-standard transactions and business initiatives.
• Monitor updates to accounting guidance (FASB/SEC) and assess implications for financial reporting and compliance.
• Oversee technical accounting for M&A activity, including purchase accounting, valuation input, and integration planning.
• Act as a liaison between accounting and cross-functional partners to identify and address technical impacts of significant business decisions.
• Manage preparation of technical accounting memos and documentation to support conclusions.
• Partner with external auditors to resolve technical issues and support audit requests.
• Contribute to the monthly close process for high-complexity transactions.
• Work with third-party valuation firms on impairment testing for goodwill and intangible assets.
• Drive development and enforcement of internal accounting policies and controls.
• Mentor and guide junior staff or consultants supporting technical areas.
• Take the lead on ad hoc accounting projects and internal initiatives related to process improvement and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in Big 4 public accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA required.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly across audiences.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Salary Range: $130k - $140k
