Reporting to the Senior Director of Technical Accounting, you’ll collaborate across functions in a flexible, 100% remote role (with hybrid options for local candidates) to fuel strategic growth.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 (DOE) + 15% bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Location: 100% remote role, ideally Northeast/EST-based (local Acton, MA-area candidates may work hybrid, in-office as needed for meetings).

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct research and analysis on complex accounting issues (e.g., contracts, leases, M&A, stock compensation) to provide GAAP-compliant guidance.
  • Draft technical memoranda to document accounting conclusions and support business transactions.
  • Develop and maintain company-wide accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
  • Partner with business and finance teams to evaluate accounting implications of contracts and negotiations.
  • Support SEC reporting by reviewing financial disclosures and assisting with external audits.
  • Assess and implement new accounting standards, including IFRS when applicable.
  • Perform internal controls over technical accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with third-party auditors and advisors to validate complex accounting treatments.
  • Support ad hoc projects to advance financial operations and strategic initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years in public accounting or a public accounting/industry mix, with strong GAAP and public company SEC experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certifications: Active CPA or in process required.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX; experience with ASC 606, 842, M&A, and equity accounting; SAP and accounting research tools (e.g., PwC Viewpoint) a plus.
  • Industry: Life sciences, pharma, or biotech experience preferred but open to other relevant industries.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities; effective verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge: IFRS experience a significant plus.
  • Mindset: Proactive, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Location: Northeast/EST-based for remote work; local Acton, MA, candidates may work hybrid (in-office as needed).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or team engagements.
