As a Technical Business Analyst/ Systems Engineer you will work within the Product Management Team in identifying, defining and driving Fivecast products and features through a complete lifecycle from inception to support.
In this role you will be working with the Product Managers to:
Elicit requirements, from customers, product managers, competitive specialists, subject matter experts, UX designers and other engineering team members, and communicate those requirements to the development team.
Collaborate with Engineering Managers and the development team to define solutions to address these requirements, balancing user needs and technical feasibility. Perform analysis to support development solutions.
Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and understanding of the customer’s problems.
Work with all areas of the Fivecast business, including Product Development, Engineering, Data Science, Intelligence, Marketing and Sales to help execute the Product Roadmap.
We are looking for someone who has worked on consumer facing web applications/products and can drive the creation of such applications from scratch. You can understand the competitive landscape, the market we are operating in, and help to anticipate the market needs before they arise. You have an affinity for the needs of a user and the technical understanding to know how we could best meet those needs.
Requirements
Australian citizenship required- due to eligibility for NV1 defence clearance requirement for the role
Bachelor degree in a related technical STEM field
5+ years experience in Technical Business Analysis / Systems Engineering/ Product Management
Ability to develop product and feature definitions and ensure delivery meets deadlines
Strong organisation skills, detail orientated, and a collaborative team player
Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and with thorough documentation
Experience within:
Consumer facing, complex web-apps or products
Defining user needs or requirements for a software development team
Detailed analysis supporting user needs or requirements
Verification of user needs or requirements
Continual evaluation of features to identify potential improvements
Trade studies of technology providers
Identifying integration and API requirements
Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite
Extra Qualities That Make Strong Candidates
Experience in technology sector working with Defence and government clients
Understanding of analytic challenges in Defence and national security
