To ensure continuity of service to newly acquired North American clients as well as operational activities carried out by CACEIS IS, such as Fund Administration and PERES services, CACEIS Canada is looking for a Fund Accountant to join our Mutual Fund Accounting Team.


Job Duties

  • Oversee the Mutual Fund Accounting team
  • Manage people resources to ensure that all daily task are completed, with high quality (timeliness & accuracy) and all NAV production deliverables are met within the deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Validate NAV reports
  • Be the first escalation point for Oversight/Client and Fund Accountants in providing technical support and advice.
  • Coach, train and mentor new and current team members and involves in training new members.
  • Communicating with all internal and external resources in a professional and respectful manner.


People Management

  • Establish positive and constructive relationships with team members and other teams/departments.
  • Create & maintain a positive team environment, motivate employees and support them in case of difficulty;
  • Coach and mentor employees and develop their skills;
  • Manage new hire trainings
  • Define employee objectives and evaluate key results.
  • Involve the team in reflections and decisions;
  • Participate in recruitment and selection activities
  • Participate in non-recurring and cross-functional projects.


Experience

  • 5-8 years’ experience in the field of Fund accounting and, preferably, in Mutual funds.
  • Proven experience in people management; team coaching & development and mentoring


Required Skills

  • Analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, both in relation to other departments and with customers or external stakeholders;
  • Good knowledge about Fund Industry, products and Financial Markets in general as well as good technical knowledge on calculating Net Asset Value & preparing financial statements.
  • Leadership and initiative skills;
  • Ability to anticipate, foresee, react in all situation
  • Organized, rigorous and attentive to detail;
  • Proficiency in the Office Pack and in particular Excel.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Very good mastery of accounting techniques;
  • Legal and financial knowledge
