Role Summary

MyCPE One is seeking an experienced US Tax Manager-CPA Licensed with a strong background in preparing and reviewing Forms 1040 to join our growing tax team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in individual (Form 1040) tax compliance, as well as strong technical skills in tax planning and strategy.

In this role, you will oversee the preparation of tax returns for a diverse client base, provide tax planning recommendations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. You will be a key advisor to internal stakeholders and collaborate with other departments to manage tax compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of Form 1040 (Individual) tax returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals.
  • Manage tax provision calculations (ASC 740) for corporate clients and ensure compliance with tax reporting standards.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all tax filings.

Tax Planning And Strategy

  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to develop tax-efficient strategies for individuals.
  • Provide tax planning advice for business owners, executives, and partners, including opportunities to reduce tax liabilities, maximize deductions, and manage credits.
  • Advise on the tax implications of corporate structuring, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Assist clients with retirement planning, estate planning, and other personal tax matters through Form 1040.

Tax Research And Compliance

  • Stay up to date with changes in federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations affecting individual taxation.
  • Research complex tax issues and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws for all entities.
  • Monitor and advise on the impact of new tax regulations on client filings and business operations.

Audit And Documentation

  • Assist in managing IRS audits for individual returns and resolve tax-related inquiries.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained to support tax positions taken on returns and during audits.

Team Leadership And Development

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff in tax return preparation and tax planning activities.
  • Provide training to staff on tax law changes, compliance requirements, and best practices in tax return preparation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to improve and streamline tax processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in tax filings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams (finance, accounting, legal) to align tax strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather required information for tax filings and provide updates on tax matters.

Education

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA Licensed

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing and reviewing Form 1040 tax returns.
  • Strong technical expertise in individual including knowledge of tax planning and compliance.
  • Experience with tax provisions (ASC 740) for corporate tax returns, including Form 1120.

Skills And Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements for Form 1040.
  • Experience with tax software (such as Thomson Reuters UltraTax, Wolters Kluwer CCH, or similar tools) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with international tax matters (e.g., foreign income, withholding tax) for corporate or partnership entities.
  • Expertise in tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and complex family entities (Trusts, Estates, etc.).
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect taxes is a plus.

Shifts: 3 PM -12 AM (Female Employees) 5 PM-2 AM (Male Employees)
