Position must sit near Houston, position is Hybrid.

The Program Manager, Early Careers is responsible for delivering programs and activating partnerships that connect early career talent to job opportunities across the WM enterprise; activating new partnership channels and sharing opportunities to engage. Serving as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the WM Talent Acquisition team and WM Hiring Managers on best practices and specific programs to engage directly with talent from Technical Schools, Driving Schools, and University Programs for apprenticeships, interns, Professional Development Programs and other early talent. Externally focused on directly connecting with our key partnership programs and ensuring full delivery across all activation channels.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversees the overall Early Careers Recruiting program framework at WM and works to align the strategies across our key partners and the WM enterprise focused on drivers, technicians, WM Professional Development Trainees and Summer Internship program.
  • Creates, evolves, and updates Early Career Recruitment Frameworks, consistently connecting with TA team, Hiring Managers and HR Partners to showcase the program options.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key external contacts for hiring events at WM.
  • Manages day-to-day tasks to ensure program goals are on track, while building solid relationships across the business and within communities.
  • Acts as a coach and trusted advisor to internal clients driving the Recruitment for the business in partnership with WM’s Talent Advisors across the WM enterprise.
  • Collaborates and connects with Hiring Managers, Human Resources, and Talent and Learning Delivery Leads to facilitate interviewing, selection, and hiring of candidates by connecting with Talent Acquisition Advisors across the WM enterprise.
  • Leads planning, rollout, and delivery of the Corporate Summer Internship program annually.
  • Works in close collaboration with HR Centers of Expertise in Total Rewards, Talent and Learning, Employee Experience, and other areas to showcase WM’s Employee Value Proposition and encourage participation in relevant programs.
  • Partners with WM Brand and Communications to share creative multimedia content and compelling storytelling packages that reinforce WM’s brand and culture.



Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree; or High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent and four (4) years relevant of work experience required.



Experience: 7+ years of prior work experience (in addition to education requirement) in Talent Acquisition, including at least three (3) years in a leadership role (in addition to the education requirement).

Demonstrated experience driving results across large-scale early career recruitment programs

Innovative mindset identifying new ways to solve work problems resulting in unique/differentiated solutions

Ability to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to action that support specific work outcomes through professional influence

Strong project management skills and the ability to execute fast-paced and complex recruitment strategies.

May be required to travel 10% - 20%

The expected base range for this position across the U.S. is $115k to $145k. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
