Job Title: Tableau Developer

Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)

Duration: 6-12 months Contract


Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing interactive Tableau dashboards that provide intuitive user experiences. The role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, conducting user research, and optimizing Tableau dashboard interactivity. The Tableau Developer will be expected to maintain design consistency, create documentation, and stay up-to-date with industry trends.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative Tableau dashboards that deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as business analysts and product teams) to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user engagement.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and storyboards to demonstrate design concepts and visualize ideas.
  • Optimize the interactivity of Tableau dashboards through thoughtful design to enhance understanding and user engagement.
  • Ensure consistency in visual elements, including defining behavior such as how to display error or warning states.
  • Develop and maintain documentation regarding style guidelines, design standards, and best practices for dashboard design.
  • Educate and guide stakeholders on the proper utilization and interpretation of Tableau dashboards.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in data visualization, Tableau development, and UX design.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a strong portfolio of design projects that involve data visualization and Tableau dashboards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau and a strong understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience with Tableau Server and publishing interactive dashboards.
  • Familiarity with UX design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with database technologies for effective data querying and integration.
