We are looking for a new colleague in our Research and Development Department at our location in Livonia, MI!
An automotive Systems Engineer is responsible for analyzing the appropriate infrastructure to manage the entire life cycle of a complex micro-processor-based system.
Their duties include evaluating and identifying inefficiencies and unmet needs, recommending improvements, and updating hardware and software requirements for integrated control modules. They do this by examining systems, troubleshooting issues, developing solutions to problems that arise and brainstorming possible upgrades that could be made.
Responsibilities:
Using functional safety analyses to develop ISO 26262 compliant braking systems for our global customers
Examining the interfaces between the vehicle electronics and hydraulics and our mechatronic system architecture for improved functionality while maintaining appropriate safety measures.
Work using quality control procedures (such as ASPICE) to make sure that all systems are operational and efficient
Developing safety control features that set and maintain the functional safety goals of our product in order to avoid the hazards associated with autonomous vehicles.
Interacting and working with a wide range of groups, like Electronic, Hydraulic, Sensors, Software, Project Management, and Controls/Algorithm teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as: Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer Science, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred. Dual degrees can offer a distinct advantage in this systems discipline.
Interested in embedded control systems, systems engineering, software architecture, interface analysis, requirements management, and verification methods.
Required to travel to various global Technical Centers, must be able to work in the US, and possess a valid Driver’s License.
