Your impact

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Core Systems Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on storage systems and VMware to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level storage and virtualization solutions that are critical to our organization’s success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with storage platforms, a solid understanding of VMware, core systems infrastructure, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Infrastructure Design and Implementation

  • Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, or similar).
  • Optimize storage performance and scalability to meet organizational needs.


Virtualization Management

  • Design, deploy, and manage VMware environments, including vSphere and related components.
  • Integrate storage solutions seamlessly into VMware environments to ensure high performance and reliability.


Maintenance and Monitoring

  • Monitor storage and virtualization environments to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches on storage and VMware systems.


Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with virtualization, cloud, and networking teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and VMware systems.
  • Provide tier-3 support for storage and virtualization-related incidents and troubleshoot performance issues.


Automation and Scripting

  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Leverage tools like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible for infrastructure as code.


Documentation and Training

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for storage and virtualization systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.

Here's what you'll need

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in storage systems and VMware engineering or administration.


Technical Skills

  • Expertise with storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, or others.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, and related tools
  • Familiarity with backup solutions like Commvault, Veeam, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.


Certifications

  • Relevant certifications such as NCDA, VCAP-DCV, or vendor-specific storage and VMware certifications are a plus.


Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Posted Salary Range Minimum

90,000.00

Posted Salary Range Upper

110,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
