Position: Systems Engineering Manager – Tactical Engineering Team

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time (6 months) - W2- Without Sponsorship

Location: Allen, TX | Hybrid (Tues-Wed-Thur onsite; Mon and Fri home office)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Start Date: Immediate

Pay : $54/H

Overview:

Seeking a Contract Lab Manager to lead the migration from HPE hardware to Dell systems using KVM virtualization, replacing existing VMware and vSphere solutions. This role supports and maintains lab infrastructure in coordination with data center and quality assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Dell PowerEdge servers utilizing KVM virtualization
• Update firmware on Cisco and Brocade fiber switches
• Administer Windows Server clients and configure GFS2 for KVM hosts
• Maintain WSUS and monitor systems using Logic Monitor
• Troubleshoot issues related to storage volumes, networking, and firewall configurations
• Document configuration standards and operational procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience managing large lab environments (50+ systems)
• Strong knowledge of provisioning and boot processes
• Expertise in Windows, Linux, Dell server management, and HPE server/SAN management
• Familiarity with network infrastructure (Layers 1–3)
• Proficiency in command-line operations on Windows Server and RHEL
• Experience in firmware upgrades and hardware/OS-level debugging
• Understanding of Linux kernel, modules, and drivers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HPE Storage, hypervisor lab setup, Agile methodologies, and project coordination
