We are seeking a qualified IT Support Engineer to join our growing team as part of our services to the Los Angeles Area. The ideal candidate will be skilled in public sector IT support, troubleshooting enterprise software and network environments, and providing proactive, security-aware service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Tier I–III helpdesk and desktop support for City staff (remote and on-site)
- Manage tickets and SLA-driven issue resolution using a structured ticketing system
- Support key city applications: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, JDIC, Laserfiche, VPN, Springbrook, and OneDrive
- Maintain, patch, and monitor workstations, servers, and network appliances
- Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tools (e.g., SentinelOne or Cylance)
- Monitor and validate backup systems (Veeam, Datto, etc.) and perform recovery tests
- Deliver monthly performance and asset tracking reports
- Provide GIS system support and assist with vendor coordination for GIS/Web-based applications
- Conduct user onboarding, training, and cybersecurity awareness sessions (e.g., KnowBe4)
Qualifications- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in IT support or system administration, preferably in a government or managed services environment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across software, hardware, and networks
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments (Teams, Exchange, SharePoint)
- Working knowledge of backup systems, antivirus/EDR tools, and VPN
- Familiarity with GIS platforms and government applications is a plus
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including CJIS and NIST 800-171 compliance
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate professionally with clients
Certifications (Preferred)- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation
- Cisco CCNA or similar (a plus)
- GIS certification or relevant experience (a plus)
