Your impact
Knack Works is seeking a Systems Engineer to coordinate our development, deployment, and maintenance of our services and systems to government customers. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working across multiple areas of the System Engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Government customers and their representatives regarding program status and deliverables
- Conduct internal coordination with multiple matrixed teams to ensure program success
- Build and maintain program plans and program schedules
- Create and maintain system documentation
- Build training material and conduct training sessions with system users
- Support the implementation of technical architectures into cloud and on-prem infrastructure including design, maintenance, support, and planning
- Work through the development lifecycle with cloud and on-prem technologies, including CI/CD releases
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization
- Understanding of secure configuration of operating system and platforms using STIG tools and automation to enforce system compliance
- Translates high-level product strategies into system requirement specifications by acting as a customer liaison
- Establishes and coordinates standards, practices and procedures for product development
- Generates system-level verification and customer acceptance test procedures
- Reviews test plans for contractual compliance and participates in validation testing

Here's what you'll need
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree
- Minimum 5-10 years of technical engineering experience
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph, willing to obtain ISSA
- Demonstrated experience with System Engineering lifecycle
- At least 5 years of experience working within the Intelligence Community
- Experience working within an incremental development framework
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Ability to coordinate with a diverse group of technical experts
- Must be willing to work on-site in Northern Virginia
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience providing technical documentation and presentations to customers Experience with Kubernetes environments
- Current Security+ or CISSP certification or ability to obtain certification within 4 weeks of starting role

The base salary range for this position is $140,000.00 to $170,000.00. When evaluating compensation, it's important to note Knack's unique total compensation model which includes an additional PSP and IBA contribution. The actual salary is dependent upon work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education.
