Summary

Sev1Tech is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience and knowledge related to Program Management and an understanding of Agile delivery methodologies for multiple system of systems Engineering for Naval Business Systems and other DoD Business Partners.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting the portfolio level system engineers supporting the Program Executive Office (PEO) Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (MLB) which manages the Logistics (LOG) Information Technology (IT) Program Office. This Program Office has a portfolio composed of 300+ afloat and ashore IT systems/applications with 150,000+ users across all Naval Systems Commands (SYSCOMs) and Naval Operational Forces (NOF) to include ships, carriers, submarines, USN/USMC aviation squadrons, and Naval Expeditionary Forces. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a joint user of LOG IT capabilities and is part of the program requirements. LOG IT enables essential business operations for various capability groups.

Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Implement and support system of systems engineering disciplines and techniques – such as WBS, schedule management, lean six sigma, risk/issue management, and SAFe/agile/scrum.
  • Implement a disciplined approach and support PMW 200 to meet program KPPs, technical/performance requirements, as well as cost and schedule baseline.
  • Support active management of risks to meeting program baselines.
  • Support portfolio management of LOG IT systems (150+).
  • Support technical planning for LOG IT deployments and legacy migrations to modernized systems.
  • Develop and maintain a holistic dashboard of LOG IT production baselines and hosting environments.
  • Work with Release Train Engineer on SAFe agile release trains.
  • Work with Product Support Management on deployments and releases.
  • Leverage an engaging and approachable demeanor to build trust.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently hold a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering best practices and Naval enterprise information systems.
  • Ten years minimum of experience with Naval policies & procedures.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of System of Systems Engineering best practices applied for across multiple programs across a portfolio.
  • Knowledge of agile tools and business intelligence dashboard. ex) Atlassian, Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with members of a software development or systems engineering team to accomplish project team goals and objectives.
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence: user story creation, backlog management, reports generation and metrics analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in the areas of listening, speaking, written and non-verbal communications.
