Job Title: System Administrator

Position Overview:
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an Systems Administrator to provide network system administration and Level 3 end-user support in a primarily Windows network environment. Responsibilities include management of on-premises and remote network infrastructure, virtualized environments, security configurations, system monitoring, and complex backup solutions. The role requires experience with Active Directory, Office 365 management, backup solutions, firewall administration, security tools, and cloud storage. Strong customer service, communication, technical, and troubleshooting skills are essential. The ability to assist with strategic systems technology plans, implement and maintain security best practices, and oversee vendor relationships is required. The position is primarily remote-based, with the requirement to travel on-site regularly as needed to perform in-person system administration responsibilities.

- Manage network infrastructure using VMware vCenter and vSphere VM management.
- Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower Management Console, static NAT, routing rules, and firewall Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Administer Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), Cisco Secure Connect, and Cisco Umbrella.
- Oversee VLAN management and Ubiquiti UniFi Controller operations.
- Install and manage wireless access points with 802.1x authentication security certificates.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS management, and DHCP management.
- Manage email authentication frameworks, including DMARC, DKIM, SPF, and SPF flattening.
- Manage internal Public Key Infrastructure.
- Handle web domain and IP management, with familiarity with Cloudflare and DNS.
- Oversee TLS certificate management.
- Maintain Level Blue SIEM.
- Manage system monitoring using Uptime Robot and Zabbix.
- Plan and oversee scheduled maintenance and security patch updates for all network endpoints.
- Monitor online security for users and networks and take appropriate steps to address security breaches if necessary.
- Respond to and mitigate security and system events, on and off-hours as required.
- Deploy and monitor endpoint threat defense, IDS/IPS, and malware protection systems.
- Review vulnerability scans and their corresponding discovered Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, rate and prioritize found vulnerabilities, and apply the required mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with external penetration test vendors to conduct biennial penetration tests and implement the necessary mitigation strategies based on the findings.
- Manage system backup solutions using Veeam, Synology NAS, and cloud storage.
- Serve as contact during off-hours (during assigned periods) for server room scheduled and unscheduled power outages, environmental alarms, managed network security, and all other system monitoring; initiate remedial action as required.
- Administer a hybrid Exchange/Office 365 environment.
- Provide Level 3 support for VoIP phones, A/V systems/services, and end-user desktop systems and software.
- Manage patching and updates via Intune, Windows Auto Patch, and Windows Server Update Services for PC and Mac desktop hardware, OS, and software applications.
- Manage Apple Business Manager automatic enrollments into Microsoft Intune’s MDM.
- Asses, configure, test and deploy Intune MDM policies to all managed Apple and Windows devices.
- Manage Microsoft Entra IAM while utilizing enhanced security features, including conditional policies, SAML, and other SSO solutions.
- Manage and maintain Linux server operating systems, including sub-features such as Apache, SSH, and MySQL/MariaDB.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy desktop images for both PC and Mac desktop hardware.
- Develop and manage relationships with vendors and consultants.
- Develop and maintain technical system documentation and a system change log; create instructions for end-users as needed.
- Crosstrain the Helpdesk support team in system administration tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervision of vendors and contractors engaged in NAM internal staff projects.
We are looking for Team Players who meet the Following Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years in a system administration role
- Relevant Microsoft Certified Professional certifications preferred.
- Experience with installation, configuration, operations, and troubleshooting of Windows 11, Windows Server 2022/2025, Mac OS 15 Sequoia, and COTS software such as MS Office 2021.
- Experience with both PC and Mac hardware, software, and OS in a mixed corporate network environment.
- Proven experience with user creation and management in Office 365 and Active Directory
- Experience in a virtualized environment (VMware preferred)
- Experience working with network storage devices
- Audio/Visual equipment and conferencing software experience desired
- Complex understanding of networking principles
- Experience implementing end-to-end network and system security best practices
- Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 products, Exchange, AD, Group Policy, file and print services, VPN, remote desktop, multi-factor authentication, Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS)
- Superior customer service skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel from administrative to executives.
- Oral and written communications skills sufficient to maintain system documentation, communicate with users, and manage vendors.
- Able to maintain record-keeping systems and organize system administration procedures
- Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work well on a team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, quality, and goal-driven work environment.

Salary Range: $103,000 – $135,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
