Scope of Services

The Systems Administrator will support FDOT's infrastructure, applications, data, and business needs through oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms. Key responsibilities include managing access controls, implementing security protocols, and overseeing the usage of shared resources.

You will architect and lead technology initiatives across areas such as:

• Infrastructure administration

• Application development

• Data management and analytics

• Cybersecurity

• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• Identity and access management

• Compliance and privacy

Education

• Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

• Equivalent work experience is acceptable

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience with:

• Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022

• IIS Administration

• Network communications (TCP/IP, DNS)

• Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions

• Microsoft Azure (strongly desired)

• Other cloud providers such as AWS or GCP (highly desired)

• Microsoft software administration (highly desired)

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:

• Infrastructure/network systems operations, support, and maintenance

• Middleware support (e.g., API Management, IT service automation tools, batch job services)

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in:

• Information systems engineering or a related field

Primary Job Duties / Tasks

1. Support and expand FDOT's IT infrastructure

2. Coordinate server configurations among stakeholders

3. Recommend upgrades for servers and software

4. Monitor systems for security, availability, and performance

5. Evaluate and optimize network performance (e.g., availability, throughput, latency)

6. Perform systems monitoring and escalate critical issues

7. Build collaborative relationships across teams

8. Refactor solutions to improve performance and cost-efficiency

9. Manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and pipelines

10. Oversee Azure DevOps organizational settings

11. Design and implement hosting for complex applications

12. Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure and other cloud services

13. Manage Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 services

14. Support other IT staff and perform related duties as assigned
