Classification Title IT Application Support Paraprofessional/Professional FLSA Non-Exempt FTE 100 Minimum Qualifications
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in a scientific or research environment.
* Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
Position Summary
This role is focused on providing exceptional desktop support, maintaining IT devices within a scientific laboratory environment, and performing systems administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, research-driven setting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, network troubleshooting, systems administration, and familiarity with laboratory IT devices. Experience with Microsoft Intune is required.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
* Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desktop Support - Provide comprehensive support for desktop systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software.

Laboratory IT Devices - Support and maintain IT devices used in scientific laboratories including specialized laboratory equipment.

Systems Administration - Perform systems administration tasks, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure.

User Assistance - Assist staff and researchers with IT-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.

Microsoft Intune Support - Manage and support IT devices using Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies.

Inventory Management - Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and ensure all devices are properly documented and tracked.

Documentation - Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
