Systems AdministratorTemp-Hire PositionNon-Exempt Salary: $104-$135K (DOE)Worksite: Rancho Dominguez, CA (this is not a remote position)Reports Directly to: Director of Information TechnologyJob Description:The System Administrator assists in the analysis, development, installation and maintenance of the network which includes: Windows Server Management, Backup/DR strategies, telecommunication, LAN/WAN/VoIP/Wireless environments and Security. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Troubleshoots network performance issues and assists in the creation and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan.TYPICAL DUTIESParticipates in the design, installation, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, Data and Telecom linksConfigures, tests, maintains and supports LAN/WAN/VoIP/Wireless environments and required equipmentProactively monitors, identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems to ensure the availability and integrity of data, and voice networksPerform daily and routine maintenance including patches and software upgrades, backups, hardware configuration, failover testingCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks and equipmentDevelops and maintains telecom systems and ensures operational functionalityProactively monitors, troubleshoots and resolves telecommunications systems and circuit issues in a timely mannerKeeps documentation up to date for all telecommunications systems such as analog lines, toll free numbers, hunt groups, call routing, trunks, voice announcement scripts, directory updates, etcEvaluates and recommends network/operational solutions to fulfill business requirementsParticipates in network planning, and the development of contingency operation plansParticipates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding network equipment, maintenance, and monitoringMaintains inventory of equipment acquisitions, installations, designs, and modificationsEnsures the resolution of technical and client problems while providing quality customer servicePrepares status reportsPerforms related duties as assignedExperience and Skills Required:Firm understanding of local and wide area networks, Internet, Intranet, telecom, data circuits, Point-to-Point Wireless technologies, VoIP technologies, VLANs, networking equipment (switches, routers, modems, firewalls)Network management, including monitoring, capacity, performance, and service level reportingNetwork security, auditing and intrusion detection systemsServer Operating Systems (Windows, VMware), Backup Solutions (Zerto experience preferred)Wireless networking, and basic IP addressing and subnetting schemesDemonstrates ability to effectively communicate by phone, email or in person.Demonstrates ability to achieve successful outcomes when handling difficult situationsShows initiative and acts independently to resolve problemsDemonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion
