We have an immediate opening for a Systems Test Engineer specializing in Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to support test and evaluation efforts for the Guam Defense System in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Test Engineer specializing in IAMD test engineering. This position will coordinate, develop, and maintain the GDS program test and evaluation strategy, conduct test planning, develop test requirements and needed outcomes in collaboration with Systems Engineering, develop test policy, develop testing CONOPS as required, develop test infrastructure requirements, support test site integration (including advising on cybersecurity), develop the test data management approach, and support the modeling and simulation development approach.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across services, agencies, and partners to develop and execute the GDS Test & Evaluation Strategy aligned to program test needs and requirements.
  • Identify challenges early and drive resolution efforts to support test planning and execution.
  • Plan and execute JPO-led testing activities, including Digital Tests, Ground Tests, Live Fire Events, and Exercises.
  • Identify and implement innovative testing approaches to support system-level assessments.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering to develop test objectives and test requirements.
  • Work with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) teams to ensure M&S efforts support test event outcomes.
  • Conduct risk assessments for test events, including live fire events, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful test execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • 15-20 years of experience in test planning and execution for missile defense systems.
  • Prior experience working within DoD acquisition frameworks and milestone processes.
  • Background in Systems Engineering with emphasis on Test & Evaluation Strategy and/or Test & Evaluation Master Planning.
  • Familiarity with applicable DoD instructions, manuals, and guidebooks.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-service and agency partners in missile defense test planning and execution.
  • Strong adaptability, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with the ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, minimal need for supervision, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to brief senior DoD leaders effectively.
  • Flexible and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to challenges and ambiguity.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance required.
