Systems Engineer

Salary Range: $115k to $135k

Minimal Requirements (Deal breakers):

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with Intune for mobile applications
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of Azure cloud and Azure AD (Entra ID)
• Experience working with no less than 1000 endpoints

Nice to haves:

• Working with over 5000 endpoints
• Experience doing rollouts of Intune

Overview

Reporting to the Director, Technical Services, you will work with a team of seven at our client’s support center in Calabasas Hills, CA. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations and systems infrastructure services for both our client’s corporate HQ and various locations.

Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:

• Participate in Infrastructure Planning: Design and implement enterprise-class systems infrastructure for critical applications across a global environment. Develop continuous improvement strategies for Corporate and Restaurant services.
• Troubleshoot and Analyze: Partner with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues, providing root cause analysis and solutions for continuous improvement.
• Monitor and Optimize: Oversee proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance analysis for server, cloud, and storage environments.
• Working with team and management to Develop Technology Roadmaps: Create short- and long-term plans for systems engineering and present proposals to senior leadership.
• Support and Mentor: Act as Level 3 support for escalations and provide training to junior staff.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure systems meet security standards, including PCI and SOX compliance, and maintain clear, up-to-date systems documentation.

What we require:

• 6+ years of Systems Engineering experience with Windows Server (2008/2012/2016) in VMware, Active Directory, and core infrastructure (e.g., PKI, Okta, SAML).
• Experience in AWS or Azure with multi-cloud environments is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in systems automation (PowerShell, Shell Scripting) and management tools like SCCM and SolarWinds.
• Networking Knowledge in DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and Firewalls, with experience in VMware NSX as a plus.
• Expertise in Microsoft Intune and Azure AD for mobile app management and Office 365.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to diverse audiences.

What we prefer:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience with multi-cloud and hyper-converged platforms, along with SCCM, Puppet, Chef, and vCloud Automation.
