About ENTSO-E

ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for a highly professional and skilled System Development Application Lead, passionate about the European electricity market and the energy transition. As a System Development Application Lead at ENTSO-E, you will analyse, design, and implement IT solutions focused on system modelling, grid adequacy, and long-term planning. You will shape a future-ready IT landscape by aligning business and technical needs and enable secure, reliable, and high-performing application ecosystems supporting energy infrastructure planning.

In this role, you will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels in the Information and Communication Technologies section, reporting directly to the ICT Power Systems Manager.

You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work to support a good work-life balance.

Occasional travels may be required.

Your responsibilities

• Contribute to the analysis, design, build, test, and deployment of innovative IT solutions.
• Coordinate and supervise activities between TSOs, RCCs , and third-party vendors involved in related projects. Support the project manager in workshop preparations and reporting.
• Test functionalities developed by IT. Ensure all business requirements are met. Monitor, process, and report project defects, propose improvements, and ensure high quality.
• Transition requirements to technical consultants to ensure understanding, facilitate training for business representatives, and support them during testing and deployment of new systems.
• Guarantee adherence to documentation methodology. Contribute to meeting preparations and project status reports.
• Continuously develop skills in digital technologies (e.g., big data, cybersecurity, analytics).

Your profile

We are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:

• Master’s degree in IT, information management, or a related field with a good understanding of European energy landscape.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the domain of IT application development or system design.
• ITIL certified or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Knowledge of project management (Agile and Waterfall) methodologies.
• Manages complexity and finds practical, high-quality solutions.
• Passionate about applying digital tools to business challenges.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and in team setting with competing deadlines.
• Proactive and results-oriented attitude.
• Motivation to work within a multinational and multicultural professional environment.
