Summary

We are immediately seeking a Systems Administrator who will report to the Director of IT. The Administrator will employ a service-driven attitude and a strong sense of ownership of the systems, issues, and service requests assigned. The Administrator will focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with SLAs by establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers. This role is expected to work independently to prioritize work requests and assigned projects, and to identify and foster improvements in technology or business processes under their own direction. The Administrator will initiate and perform changes on production systems and will proactively escalate or collaborate on work items with IT team members and cross-functional colleagues as necessary. It is important to note that this is primarily an in-person position, requiring presence in the office rather than being fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general system support and maintenance, primarily on Windows platforms but including a few Mac systems.
  • Administer and oversee a hybrid environment consisting of on-premises server systems and Microsoft Azure resources.
  • Assist with Microsoft Azure resource administration, including function apps, app services, storage accounts, and Azure AD.
  • Provide end user support.
  • Maintain the reliability of corporate networked systems – printers, copiers, desktops, laptops, servers.
  • Coordinate with HR to provide “productive on day one” new user experience: provisioning of user accounts, imaging of laptops, software deployment, and general use training.
  • Sustain asset management practices of both hardware and software while practicing licensing compliance control.
  • Contribute to purchasing, acquisition, and lease life-cycle management of all IT hardware.
  • Participate in light-load, on-call duties to support off-hours business activities and personnel.
  • Monitor corporate install base for daily operational compliance such as anti-virus software status.
  • Management of corporate user accounts in Active Directory and ancillary applications.
  • Assist in managing a farm of Hyper-V-based virtual machines.
  • Responsible for vulnerability scans and remediating findings on systems.
  • Apply knowledge and experience of IT security standards and best practice frameworks, primarily PCI DSS.
  • Work with security teams to achieve systems security compliance.

Qualifications

  • Critical thinking coupled with structured troubleshooting.
  • Ability to professionally engage colleagues as IT customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Experience with PCI DSS, or other security compliance standards, and participation in audits.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure components, with the ability to troubleshoot operating systems and network components.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and the OSI model.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to establish cross-functional relationships is a must.
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server 2012R2+, Windows 10+, Ubuntu Linux, and/or general Linux.
  • Proficiency in Windows Hyper-V Server and Windows Failover Clustering.
  • Strong understanding of core networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, etc.), firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center - SCCM/MECM, SCVMM.
  • Familiarity with Office 365.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and support.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and/or other scripting languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with authentication mechanisms such as SAML, OAuth, etc.
  • Experience with audio/visual systems and VoIP.
