Summary

Robert Half is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on System Administrator in Foster City to support IT infrastructure and help desk operations. This position will play a crucial role during a transition period and requires someone ready to hit the ground running in a startup-like, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit a proactive “get things done” mindset, thrive in a lean team, and possess a balance of technical expertise and big-picture thinking.



Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a hands-on System Administrator providing full-stack technical support across all levels (L1 – L3).
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory (AD), and Okta:
  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to help troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize cloud-connected servers, hybrid Active Directory environments, and synchronization challenges.
  • Administer accounts, group management, synchronization, and integrations.
  • Support Okta advanced features, including SAML integrations and customer-specific logins.
  • Provide help desk support using Jira Service Management:
  • Handle access requests, password/MFA resets, and onboarding/offboarding tasks.
  • Create and configure Jira projects and develop project-based solutions.
  • Offer hardware and software support for a heavy Mac environment and administer Zoom Room technologies.
  • Maintain familiarity with Wi-Fi systems:
  • Including Cisco Meraki and Juniper Mist.
  • Troubleshoot and support hybrid AD infrastructure, cloud-connected servers, and associated sync challenges.
  • Contribute to current IT projects aimed at optimizing infrastructure and processes.



Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills to interact with end users and cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator who has also handled Help Desk Support.
  • Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory (AD), and Okta (admin to super admin level).
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for infrastructure maintenance.
  • SAML integrations – advanced understanding of how it works and is applied.
  • Jira/Atlassian products – admin-level functionalities and project configurations.
  • Experience supporting MAC-dominant environments and familiarity with Cisco Meraki/Wi-Fi systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, Amazon AWS, and Azure is a plus (not required).
  • “Can-do” attitude with the ability to proactively identify and resolve IT challenges.
