Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure including network for the border control system environment

Responsibilities

• Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
• Using ANSIBLE to automates provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, orchestration, and many other IT processes.
• install and configure App servers (Tomcat server, Jboss).
• Must possess proven administration ability on RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or CentOS 5, 6, and/or 7, Linux Process management utilities, bash scripting and SQL queries
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
• Installed and configured of GoldenGate database for data replicationfactors.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools
• Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
• Managing network devices (switches and F5) using network configuration and debugging utilities. Monitoring server and tools, NTP (ntpd).
• System backup/Restore using third partys software such as Veam or TSM.
• Managing partitions and hard drives at your system - especially at different RAID levels and logical volumes management (LVM)
• Virtulization (Vmware, Hyper V..etc)
• Storage installtion, configuration, managmnet and support

Qualifications

• System Administration, LAN/WAN Knowledge, Performance Tuning ; Strong analytical skills
• Strong Linux administration skills; f5 network big ip; Application servers knowledge (tomcat)
• Troubleshooting, learning and solve problem quickly skills.
• MCSE & Vmware certifies is preferred
• Knowledge about Oracle database including tables, DML, Golden Gates , Backup and restore.
