Job Title: Surveyor I-Man/ Party Chief
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Surveyor to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This position offers real-world experience by working closely with our project managers, surveyors, and technicians on various projects. This is a full-time role with benefits and presents opportunities for advancement for motivated individuals willing to grow with the evolving skills and technology required in the land surveying profession.
Responsibilities
* Work in the field with survey crews on topographic, boundary, and construction staking tasks.
* Operate and maintain survey equipment while adhering to safety standards.
* Document all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection.
* Perform any other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
* Physical ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and terrains, including Phoenix summer heat.
* Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 50 lbs, which includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes.
* Capability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
* Willingness to work overtime.
* Problem-solving and good decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication, detail orientation, interpersonal skills, and ability to be a team player.
* Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience with surveying, math, AutoCAD, Trimble, or Microsoft Office products is a plus.
* Experience with GPS, Total Station, and boundary survey software.
* Knowledge in land survey, topography, construction, land development, and survey crew operations.
* Familiarity with Alta surveys, construction stakeout, and development.
Work Environment
The work environment is based in our Phoenix office. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains. As an employee-owned firm, we value punctuality and daily attendance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00/hr.
