Conduct surveys on land, construction sites, and infrastructure projects to gather data for civil engineering designs and plans.
Measure distances, angles, and elevations to determine property boundaries, site topography, and project layouts.
Prepare accurate survey reports, drawings, and site plans for civil engineering projects, ensuring they are compliant with local regulations.
Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely survey data for design and construction purposes.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to support project implementation.
Perform geodetic, topographic, and boundary surveys, ensuring the accuracy of all collected data.
Use advanced surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS, and 3D Laser Scanners, for field data collection.
Ensure the surveying equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used effectively.
Review and verify survey results and adjust for accuracy as required.
Assist in the design and alignment of infrastructure projects like roads, drainage systems, bridges, and utilities.
Ensure that all survey activities comply with legal, environmental, and safety standards.
Document and maintain detailed records of survey data, drawings, and other related documentation for future use and legal purposes.
Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of survey reports and data to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or related field.
Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) as a Civil Surveyor or in a similar surveying role in the civil engineering field.
Proficient in using surveying equipment such as Total Stations, GPS units, and laser scanning devices.
Familiarity with surveying software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, LISCAD, or other similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of civil surveying techniques, land subdivision, boundary determination, and construction layout.
Understanding of relevant local, state, and national regulations governing civil surveys and construction projects.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and legal documents related to land use.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot survey discrepancies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, contractors, and clients.
