Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do: This candidate will perform and lead crew members in activities on a wide variety of surveying projects for public and private sector clients. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * Take instructions and follow directions. * Lead survey crew in executing field surveys accurately and efficiently. * Supervise other survey crew members in proper surveying techniques and equipment operations. * Provide survey crew leadership in vehicle, instrument and equipment care and maintenance. * Develop thorough and accurate field notes, survey reports and calculations. * Proactively provide routine communications to supervisors and administrative support staff. * Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. * Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management. * Qualifications What you'll be challenged to do: * Certified Survey Technician, Level II or III (CST) or ability to obtain within specified timeframe * Proficient with business software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word * A minimum of 5 years survey experience with Survey Crew Chief experience. * Position requires comprehensive knowledge of GPS surveying including static, fast static, RTK, and VRS. * Proficiency with field survey instruments (Trimble, Leica…) * Proficiency using laptop computers and data collection software. * Must be a self-starter and work with little guidance. * Must be able to work independently or as part of a survey crew as required. * Must be available to travel and work overtime occasionally. * Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy. * Must be able to work independently or in a team setting * Strong communication skills * Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. * Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.
