We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and engineering, with specific expertise in the specialty chemical market. This role requires a deep understanding of the chemical industry's value and supply chains, as well as the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Objective: Develop, design, and sell comprehensive chemical solutions to logistics customers using DP World's capabilities across Europe. This role requires close collaboration with other DP World entities and regions to ensure smooth integration, innovation, and standardization of solutions.
How You Will Contribute
Develop and execute supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and achieve business objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of supply chain solutions for the chemical sector.
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including VP and C-suite executives.
Identify and pursue opportunities for supply chain improvements and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including IMDG Code, REACH, and OSHA.
Manage the end-to-end logistics process, including transport, warehousing, and handling of specific chemicals.
Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating a strong understanding of chemical terminology and industry trends.
Assess and mitigate risks associated with chemical handling, including environmental, insurance, and liability concerns.
Navigate global trade compliance, including import/export regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures.
Oversee the handling and transportation of hazardous materials, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Maintain temperature control requirements for chemicals during storage and transportation.
Provide expertise in the following segments: Agro, Plasticizer, (Bio)fuel, Automotive.
Support management of the prospective client pipeline by evaluating and qualifying solutions leads.
Oversee project team performance management and ensure high standards of accuracy, quality, and service delivery.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience (8-12 years) in supply chain management or Logistics, with a focus on the chemical sector.
In-depth knowledge of the specialty chemical market and its value and supply chains.
Experience in one or more of the following segments: Agri, Plasticizer, (Bio)fuel, Automotive.
Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations (IMDG Code, REACH, OSHA).
Strong understanding of chemical compatibility and risk management. Expertise in global trade compliance and hazardous material handling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak the "chemical language" and build trust with clients.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven track record of leadership and team/project management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with supply chain software and systems (e.g., Log-Hub, WMS, TMS). Expertise to support value creation, tailoring it to the specific needs of the client.
