As the Supplier Quality Manager - Licensing, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the quality and safety of licensed materials by fostering strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. This position is instrumental in maintaining regulatory compliance and upholding brand standards through proactive risk management and supplier development.
You will join a collaborative and technically skilled team that values precision, accountability, and cross-functional engagement. This hybrid role offers exposure to global sourcing practices and provides opportunities to contribute to enterprise-wide quality and compliance initiatives. It can be based out of our offices in Chicago, IL, or Battle Creek, MI.
A Taste of What You'll Be Doing
* Supplier Quality Oversight - Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing quality and food safety concerns, concerns related to licensed materials, both food and non-food, and collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing sites, and internal teams.
* Technical Risk Assessment - Apply science-based methodologies to evaluate and mitigate risks when materials do not meet internal or regulatory standards.
* Supplier Approval & Compliance - Manage the approval process for and direct food contact materials, along with non-food consumer merchandise, ensuring compliance through audits, training, product safety testing, and specification monitoring.
* Training & Knowledge Sharing - Lead training initiatives for plant personnel and provide technical expertise to global sourcing teams and consumer affairs investigations.
* Regulatory & Safety Monitoring - Monitor emerging regulatory and safety developments, assess potential impacts, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
We're Looking for Someone With
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Grain Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience in quality assurance roles within corporate or manufacturing environments, focusing on supplier and material management.
* Familiarity with consumer soft goods manufacturing (e.g., toys, apparel, packaging).
* Knowledge of consumer product safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement specifications, standards, and policies.
* Strong analytical skills in root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective/preventive action planning.
* Technical proficiency to support multiple licensing platforms.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $103,800 - $136,290, which is based on various factors such as location, experience, and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
