Summary

The Role:

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing the quality of all Raw Material Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers that produce outsourced finished goods. This position interacts with Raw Materials Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers as well as internal teams and functional owners such as R&D, Packaging and Project Management as part of the broader quality team.

What You Will Do:

• Provide technical guidance and advice to Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers and decision makers

• Communicate between Suppliers (Raw Materials), Contract Manufacturers and Senior Management to identify quality issues, provide guidance and support process enhancements and improvement projects

• Function as part of a Supplier assessment team performing on-site inspections and Quality System audits at Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers. Evaluate partner suitability for future Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers

• Support Supplier and Contract Manufacturer development activities and continuous improvement initiatives

• Monitor Supplier and Contract Manufacturer quality KPI’s, maintain detailed quality performance reports and support their projects to improve key performance indicators

• Prepare data for quarterly Supplier and Contract Manufacturer reviews

• Work to resolve Contract Manufacturing technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply

• Performs Document Control processes to ensure all procedures are properly documented, updated as needed and in compliance with regulatory requirements

• Generate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) for non-conforming materials or finished good products

• Work with Contract Manufacturers and internal teams to resolve quality issues. Support Supplier and Contract Manufacturer problem solving and root cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non-conformance (CAPA)

• Participate in pilot and/or first product runs performed by Contract Manufacturers

• Support the non-conforming material process (identification/segregation/disposition)

• Participate on NPD teams to support new product development utilizing quality expertise

What You Will Bring:

• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities; results driven

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Working knowledge of basic quality topics/processes to include: DMAIC, Statistical Process Control methods and Process Capability Index (CPK), CAPA, Cause and Effect Analysis, Pareto Analysis, etc.

• BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Certification may be required in some areas

• 3-5 years of experience in a Quality role

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green or Black belt is a plus

• Knowledge of applicable Quality System requirements (GMP and ISO 9001) is strongly desired


Compensation Range:

$83,200 - $94,400
