This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Engineer. The selectee will be responsible for supervising professional, technical, permanent, temporary and contract support staff in completing and executing engineering activities in the civil and structural disciplines.

Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-15 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-14) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience that demonstrates all of the following: Providing expert advice and technical guidance regarding civil and structural engineering aspects of construction project design, testing and installation; Providing leadership and administrative direction and control of civil and structural engineering project development activities, staff, resources and contractor performance; Developing innovative solutions to civil and structural engineering project and program issues; and Working with internal and external stakeholders, such as Congressional leadership, management, staff, external agencies and professional organizations on civil and/or structural engineering projects through various phases (i.e., planning, design and execution) to advance program objectives.
