Summary

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Engineer. The selectee will be responsible for supervising professional, technical, permanent, temporary and contract support staff in completing and executing design activities in the architectural and interior design disciplines.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-15 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-14) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience that demonstrates all of the following: Performing planning, design, oversight and execution of architectural and interior design projects, programs and operations; Providing leadership and administrative direction and control of project development activities, staff, resources and contractor performance; Developing innovative solutions to architectural and interior design project and program issues; Working with internal and external stakeholders, such as Congressional leadership, management, staff, external agencies and professional organizations on major architectural and/or interior design projects through various phases (i.e., planning, design and execution) to advance program objectives.
