Union County Educational Services Commission is a rapidly expanding public school district in Westfield, NJ that provides innovative and cost-effective programs for students enrolled in the 21 member school districts located throughout Union County. The Commission is currently seeking a full-time Supervisor of Instruction for Mental Health Services. This experienced administrator will assist the Director in the timely completion of all tasks required to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the program.
Sample Responsibilities:
* Under the direction of the Director, assume primary responsibility for direction and supervision of educational services provided to youth patients at Trinitas Regional Medical Center's (Elizabeth, NJ) Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Services programs.* Assisting in the compliant development and implementation of student IEPs
* Providing all Commission schools with leadership, best practices and professional development of Mental Health Services and Crisis Intervention
* Assisting in the compliant development and implementation of student IEPs
* Oversee sending-district contracts and outreach
* Ensure proper maintenance of students' records according to board policy and state code
* Submit written reports as needed
* Work in a professional manner with pupils, parents, co-workers, administration, and hospital staff
* Provide coverage for instructional positions as needed
* Conducting staff observations and summative evaluations
* Mentoring and coaching teaching staff
* Developing, implementing and evaluating academic curricula
* Coordinating staff development programs
* Maintaining accurate schedules, student records and other required documentation

Requirements:
* Must have experience with mental health services
* Valid NJDOE Supervisor's or Principal's Certificate
* Minimum of 3-5 years highly successful teaching, educational services or administrative experience
* Knowledge of Special Education policies, procedures and current practices
* Prior experience working with students with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities strongly preferred
* Experience as social worker or school counselor preferred
* Highly effective organizational, interpersonal, time-management and communication skills
