SUBSTITUTE GROUNDS MAINTENANCE WORKER (on call, as needed)

$20.76 hourly rate

Under general supervision, to perform general and varied groundskeeping and maintenance work.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school graduation or its equivalent.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and qualify for insurability by the district's authorized insurance carrier.
• Knowledge of proper use, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance and general utility work; operation,
  
  

and use of a variety of hand tools and power driven equipment commonly used in grounds maintenance work; appropriate safety precautions and procedures.

• Ability to perform general grounds maintenance work; use or learn to use hand and power driven tools common to groundskeeping and maintenance work;
  
  

perform simple servicing and adjustment to grounds equipment; perform work using appropriate safety precautions and procedures; understand and carry out oral and written directions;

establish and maintain effective relationships; work off the ground using ladders, scaffolds and/or mechanical lifts; work out-of-doors during inclement weather; mix and apply pesticides and weed abatement chemicals.
