Conduct field inspections and provide engineering support before, during, and after construction.
Attend departmental meetings and participate in committees as needed.
Keep the department informed on project progress, including budget updates.
Stay current with industry developments and maintain knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and NESC standards relevant to substation design, as well as NERC/FERC regulatory standards.
Support the company’s Emergency Response Plan through assigned storm response duties.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
3-5 years of experience in substation engineering or related operations.
At least 1 year of experience in substation design.
Strong knowledge of substation layout and major equipment, including breakers, switches, and substation steel.
Ability to interpret layout, one-line, and schematic drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical, technical, and computer skills.
Strong judgment, initiative, creativity, and decision-making abilities in handling assignments.
Proficiency with IEEE/ANSI Standards and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
