The primary responsibilities of the Web/Application Developer are as follows:
* Work with the product owner to understand the requirements and scope of the project
* Write frontend and backend Javascript code that implements the functionality requested by the client
* Work in a collaborative setting with developers and professors to discover solutions to unique problems
* Research documentation and implement 3rd party libraries
* Apply programming fundamentals to current projects
* Assist Supervisor or CLC Director as needed
* You will learn to create Online Learning Modules for the
Computer Literacy Center
* Creating digital projects (Online Learning Modules) as assigned.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Web Development Experience
* Familiarity with programming (especially in Javascript)
* Familiarity with HTML and CSS
* Familiarity with Javascript Object Notation (JSON)
* Strong interpersonal skills both with clients, co-workers, and supervisors
* Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) like Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, or WordPress
Potential candidates must have good communication and customer service skills through work or volunteer experiences.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft and Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred skills:
* Working with APIs
* Working with databases
* Working with the Document Object Model (DOM)
* Working with a GUI
* Familiarity with user experience and accessibility
* Priority for WSU undergraduate students
* Bilingual/Spanish speaking
