Our two campuses serve 320 students in preschool through 8th grade. Luria offers a sophisticated Jewish day school education in a progressive environment. Our students come from a wide range of religious and economic backgrounds. At Luria, students are encouraged to be curious, to embrace one another’s differences and to engage in respectful dialogue. At Luria, we focus on the whole child; as such, our educators develop learning experiences that support and challenge each student. We track student progress using standards-based assessment and grading practices.


We are seeking a full time Student Support Case Manager & Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS). Provider will join Luria’s agency and will receive a salaried position with benefits.


Responsibilities include:

  • Primary contact for parents of Middle School students with IEP’s
  • Liaison between students, parents, faculty, and the DoE
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to ensure diverse learners are successful in an inclusive environment
  • Providing targeted special education instruction to students in individual and group settings
  • Tracking student’s annual goals in accordance with their individualized education plan
  • Data collection and progress monitoring


Qualifications:

  • Masters in Special Education with Certificate to a minimum of 6th grade
  • At least 5 years working in special education
  • Experience in special education coordination
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of NYC special education process and compliance
  • Ability to differentiate curriculum across subject areas
  • Experience in providing professional development to a special education team
  • Proven success with high-quality progressive pedagogy preferred; a commitment to developing progressive pedagogy is essential
  • Strong track record of student achievement
  • Ability to create a class environment in which students feel safe, supported, and challenged to engage deeply in meaningful work
  • Strong organizational skills that translate to time management, data collection and progress monitoring
  • Strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
  • Unshakeable conviction that all students can learn
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school support team, faculty, parents and other support providers


Salary range: $70,000-$90,000
