Summary

Job Summary

Reporting to the appropriate campus leader, the Student Development Specialist is responsible for compiling data and performing a variety of clerical duties to maintain business records and reports.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Types reports, business correspondence, application forms, shipping tickets, and other material
  • Files records and reports, posts information to records, sorts and distributes mail, answers telephone, and performs similar duties
  • Computes amounts and checks totals on report forms or bills
  • Completes specialized forms
  • Inputs and retrieves information in connection with the responsibilities of the assigned office

Service Excellence

  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision

Works under the general supervision of the appropriate campus leader

  • Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • One (1) year’s working experience in an office environment

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree or 60 college hours completed

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a collaborative environment

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

This Position Would Work The Following Hours

Summer (Mid-May through July)- M-Th 8:30 am – 7pm; Closed F-Su

Fall and Spring (August through Mid-May) M-Th 10am-7pm; F 8am-5pm; Occasional Saturdays 9am-1pm.
