Summary

This role is part of a specialized group focused on the structural integrity and design of floating offshore systems, including both topside and hull components. The team supports a range of initiatives from early-phase concept studies to detailed engineering and construction, covering new builds and conversions.

Role Overview

As a Structural Engineer specializing in hull structures, you will play a critical role in the design, verification, and optimization of marine vessels repurposed for offshore energy production. Your work will span feasibility assessments, advanced structural modeling, design documentation, and technical support during offshore inspections and yard activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural strength assessments for both newly built and converted hulls used in floating offshore platforms (e.g., production or liquefaction units).
  • Develop naval architecture and structural design solutions tailored to floating production systems.
  • Collaborate with innovation teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for floating platforms and renewable energy applications.
  • Assist in the technical evaluation and selection of existing vessels suitable for conversion.
  • Create and coordinate detailed 3D structural models and equipment layouts.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and provide engineering support during fabrication and conversion activities.

Candidate Profile

We’re seeking a technically proficient professional with the ability to work on complex structural challenges in a dynamic project environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate drive, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a focus on hull structural analysis.
  • Approximately 4–5 years of experience in structural engineering for floating systems, particularly in oil and gas applications.
  • Proficiency in both global and detailed structural assessments.
  • Familiarity with major classification societies and regulatory standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyd's).
  • Hands-on experience with engineering design phases, from conceptual development to execution.
