We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design Water/Wastewater Structures to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote nor hybrid.)

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and assist in the development of construction drawings and specifications for Water/Wastewater projects

  • Conduct structural investigations and assist in the preparation of reports and cost estimates

  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures

  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables

  • Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects

  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis

  • Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasis preferred, but not required

  • Possess at least 4 years of structural engineering design work experience

  • Experience with construction-related engineering services with the ability to review Shop Drawings, RFIs, etc.

  • Must possess EIT certification; PE license preferred, but not required

  • Microsoft Office, Mathcad, TEDDS or similar analytical software experience

  • SAP2000, STAAD or similar Finite Element software analysis experience

  • AutoCAD, Revit or similar detailing and drawing production experience

  • Ability to work in a team environment with the work involving studies, detailed design and engineering services during construction for a wide variety of projects

  • Possess analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects at a time

  • Ability to learn, listen, adapt, and take ownership of work

  • Attention to detail, self-directed learning, and meeting deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and production staff

  • Willingness to try new things and be forward thinking, with a creative and innovative approach to engineering
