Our client is a rapidly growing steel building company specializing in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs), concrete slabs, and full shell packages across Florida and the Southeast. As part of our continued growth, we're bringing structural design and review fully in-house-and we're looking for a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to lead the way.

Position Overview

• We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer (PE) to serve as the primary structural authority on our production team.
• In this role, you'll handle 10-15 steel building projects per month, providing plan reviews, wind load calculations, and stamped drawings to support permitting and construction.
• You'll work closely with our in-house drafting team to finalize structural designs and ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and county-specific requirements-especially in high-wind coastal regions.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Review, approve, and stamp structural plans for PEMBs and concrete slabs
• Provide site-specific wind load calculations, particularly for Florida coastal counties
• Collaborate directly with in-house drafters to finalize design packages
• Offer expert guidance on trusses, load paths, footings, purlins, and other structural components
• Ensure all designs meet local and state codes, including the Florida Building Code
• Respond to RFIs and permitting inquiries as needed

Qualifications

• Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license - Structural or Civil with structural experience
• Prior experience with PEMB systems or steel buildings strongly preferred
• Proficient in wind load calculations and Florida structural codes
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with drafters, sales teams, and permitting offices
