Summary

Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Structural Engineer dedicated to advancing sustainable structural design efforts. This role focuses on optimizing material efficiency through performance-based approaches and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), contributing significantly to our commitment to Climate Pledge 2040. Responsibilities * Evaluate alternative structural systems to minimize oversizing, reducing cost, carbon impact, and construction waste. * Develop decarbonization strategies for Scope 3 embodied carbon, integrating circular economy principles and sustainable design standards into building templates. * Research, specify, and implement low-carbon materials, ensuring resilience and minimizing supply chain emissions. * Enhance structural resilience by designing for climate adaptability, durability, and material reuse. * Collaborate with internal teams to advance Scope 3 emissions strategies, piloting innovative, high-readiness solutions for low-carbon construction. * Drive research and innovation in sustainable materials, structural systems, and emerging technologies to improve carbon, cost, and waste efficiencies. Essential Skills * Structural engineering, structural design, and structural analysis. * Sustainability and sustainable engineering. * Deep technical knowledge in structural design and performance specifications. * Low-carbon construction materials and innovations. * Life cycle analysis and embodied carbon assessment. * Building codes and relevant legislation. * Strong program management skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering. * 7-10 years of experience in building design and construction. * Expertise in structural optimization, sustainable materials, and carbon reduction strategies. * Proven track record in structural design optimization and embodied carbon reduction. * Strong project and program management skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * In-depth knowledge of structural analysis, sustainable design principles, and construction methods. * Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and tools. * Knowledge of low-carbon construction materials such as mass timber, low-carbon concrete, and recycled steel. * Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, and sustainability consultants. * A proactive, research-driven, and innovative mindset. * Experience in construction supply chain management and procurement practices. * Strong technical proficiency in structural analysis and digital tools. Work Environment This position is onsite in Bellevue, working with the US Standards team and teams in the EU. You will be engaged in projects focused on carbon neutrality and sustainability within structural projects. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $96.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
