Job Title: Structural Engineer
Job Description
This role involves examining and assessing structural drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with EPCOT Building Code and Florida regulations. The position requires interaction with stakeholders including contractors, designers, property owners, and the public to address design and permit-related issues. The engineer will analyze legal requirements concerning structural matters and collaborate with designers, contractors, and owners to ensure compliance solutions are met. Investigating structural failures due to design/construction deficiencies or natural forces, preparing reports, and evaluating material testing reports are essential components of this role.
Responsibilities
* Examine and assess structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance with building codes.
* Engage with stakeholders to address design and permit-related issues.
* Analyze legal requirements concerning structural matters and collaborate for compliance solutions.
* Investigate structural failures due to design/construction deficiencies or natural forces.
* Prepare reports and evaluate material testing reports.
* Investigate unusual structural issues and interpret code requirements.
* Conduct surveys to identify code violations or hazardous conditions.
* Gather evidence and create reports for unresolved structural violations.
* Assist in developing and modifying structural design and construction requirements.
* Perform annual tests of emergency power systems.
* Support operations to maintain workflow and meet quality standards.
* Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities and resolve problems.
* Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university.
* Professional Structural Engineer license issued by the State of Florida.
* Five to seven years of experience in a Structural Engineering role or related position.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Obtain a Standard Building Plans Examiner License within one year.
* Obtain a Standard Building Inspector License within one year.
* Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
