Summary

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking mid-level and senior-level Structural Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formally GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an onsite position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.

Key Duties

  • Support structural engineering designs for the Sentinel program by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, following applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Work with other Structural Engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.
  • Develop concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic.
  • Create foundation designs and drawings.
  • Assist with boring oversight and walk-downs of existing facilities.
  • Perform formal calculations and drawings.
  • Review existing conditions and as-built drawings.
  • Review customer and vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.
  • Develop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurement.
  • Develop design specifications for construction and/or procurement.
  • Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.


Required/Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as customer corporate guides and standards.
  • Broad knowledge of the application of Structural Engineering design principles.
  • Experience with Tekla.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Seismic analysis and associated codes.
    • Underground structures.
    • Retrofit, additions, and modifications of concrete and buildings.
    • Equipment anchorage.
    • Precast and modular structures.
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study and 4 or more years of related experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States.
  • Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.
  • Experience executing engineering and design with Revit
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs, such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI MasterFormat specifications, or SpecsIntact
  • Master of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study.
