Meet Our Leadership Team
The Structural Engineer will support the project teams with varying degrees of direct project responsibilities while developing a baseline knowledge of the telecommunications site development process. Project work will focus on new site development of macro and small cell sites, the modification of existing telecommunications facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types as required. Responsibilities will focus on engineering tower and compound as well as creating fiber optic network designs while developing an understanding of client-specific telecommunications equipment and their usage.
Job Responsibilities
Engineer tower and compound locations (i.e. site layout, grading, stormwater management design, and culvert design) with an understanding in structural engineering concepts
Develop construction plans for telecommunications client equipment upgrades and modifications
Prepare and review construction drawings for completeness before final PE review
Design of new conduit routes for fiber optic utility companies from existing infrastructure to proposed destination in public right-of-way and private property
Design of existing fiber optic facilities within the public for permanent or temporary relocation in the public right-of-way
Analyze and design all types of structural support designs using building materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, light-gage, and wood
Perform calculations conforming to building code requirements for structural design and analysis
Interact with internal multi-disciplinary team members to expedite project completion and approvals
Create effective job flow by tracking assigned tasks and prioritizing completion of assignments accordingly
Maintain NB+C CAD standards and templates
Routinely produce accurate drawings promptly and efficiently
Learn telecommunications equipment and client-specific equipment and their usage
Learn conduit design from client-specific standards
Evaluate designs for constructability
