Job Summary:
We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in the design and analysis of steel structures, preferably for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in structural engineering principles and proficient in structural modeling and analysis using RISA-3D. This role involves designing and analysis of variety of steel structures, reviewing fabrication drawings, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with internal teams to develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, and IBC codes is essential.
While candidates with ability to perform work on-site are preferred, remote position is considered for highly qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures using RISA-3D.
- Perform Foundation analysis and design using EMI line of pile products.
- Review fabrication drawings for structural adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with design intent.
- Interpret design requirements and prepare structural calculations and documentation as needed.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, including AISC, ASCE 7, and IBC.
- Review and interpret geotechnical reports for foundation analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, drafters, and fabrication teams to ensure constructability and efficiency.
- Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering input throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform redline reviews and coordinate changes based on internal and client feedback.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in industrial or steel structures.
- Proficiency in RISA-3D or other computer modeling software.
- Strong understanding of structural detailing and fabrication practices.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting fabrication drawings and shop details.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Familiarity with sheet metal or custom fabrication.
- Experience in telecommunications or utility structures.
- Familiarity with tnxTower, Mathcad, L-pile.
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Experience in wind load calculation on structures and appurtenances.
- Experience in helical pile analysis.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E) license in any State.
