Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Structural Engineer (Bridge) PE at our Dallas, TX office. This position may also be located in Dallas or Austin, TX. This full-time structural position is within our transportation group and also provides the opportunity to support other disciplines on an as needed basis. HZ’s portfolio includes prestressed, post-tensioned and conventionally reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structures.

Duties
Technical and managerial responsibilities are dependent on experience level
Apply prescribed methods and procedures in accordance with established criteria
Prepare calculations in accordance with applicable design codes by following standard engineering practices and procedures within established guidelines
Prepare detailed designs, plans and specifications for bridges and other transportation structures
Manage all project aspects including scope of work development, fee development, and subconsultant management
Assist business development and project pursuits
Interact and collaborate with clients, owners and other highway disciplines
Mentor and develop junior engineers
Implement Huitt-Zollars’ Quality Management Plans for project deliverables
Key Responsibilities
Productively collaborates with PMs and other project TMs and leads or encourages task teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other
Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on assigned project tasks and daily operations.
Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the PM on assigned project tasks.
Complete project task assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assigned tasks.
Effectively leads, creates, plans, executes project tasks on a project
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Master’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) a plus
Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas
Ability to obtain license in other states
Proficient with TxDOT design practice and guidelines highly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with relevant technology/software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, RISA, STADD
Passionate about transportation and major highway design projects
Ability to work / lead in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position will office out of our Dallas, TX location in a 'Class A' office space including a state-of-the-art gym (no cost), covered parking, food court, and more.
