Compensation: $40 - $50 hourly Responsibilities: Design and analyze structures for residential and mixed-use developments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and engineering principles. Review and prepare structural drawings, specifications, and calculations to meet local building codes and regulations. Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver cost-effective and safe designs. Conduct site visits and inspections during construction phases to ensure adherence to design specifications and structural safety. Provide solutions for structural challenges and recommend necessary modifications or repairs. Coordinate with permitting agencies to secure timely approval of designs. Evaluate contractor submittals and shop drawings for structural systems and components. Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the position should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering, with a preference for experience in residential or mixed-use developments, is required. It is essential to be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in Oregon, or have the ability to obtain licensure within six months. Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar tools is necessary. A thorough understanding of local and national building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, and ACI standards, is a must. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are highly valued. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams are essential for this role. Previous experience in working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines is required.
